VARSITY BOYS
Etowah 35 - Marietta 57
The
Varsity boys dropped their first region
game to the Marietta Blue Devils by the
score of 57-35 to even their record at
1-1. The two teams came into the contest
winners of their opening regional games
and matched up well in the opening period
with Marietta holding a one point
advantage at 11-10 on the strength of two
treys. The Blue Devils opened the second
period with six unanswered points to
build a seven point advantage en route to
carrying a 24-18 lead at the break.
The third period was all Marietta as
Etowah failed to put any point on the
board while the Blue Devils countered
with twenty to lead 44-18 at the end of
three. The outcome was set as the two
teams finished out the final eight
minutes of the Blue Devils home court
victory, Etowah who now stands 2-3
overall was unable to put any players in
double figures for the game.
