VARSITY BOYS
Etowah 36 - McEachern 60
The
Varsity Boys fell to 7 - 14 on the season
and 3 - 7 in region play as the McEachern
Indians jumped out quick and never looked
back taking home a 60 - 36 victory over
the Eagles.
McEachern opened the contest with Trae
Golden who has committed to Ohio State
hitting back-to-back treys. The Indians
continued their hot hand in the first
quarter connecting on four shots from
beyond the arc in the initial eight
minutes while holding Etowah to 8 points
and an early sixteen point lead. Etowah
struck first to start the second period
but the Indians kept firing away with six
unanswered points and a twenty point lead
with just over five minutes remaining in
the half. Etowah was able to slow down
McEachern late in the second quarter but
trailed 36 - 17 at the half.
The Indians in control of the game saw
Etowah play them relatively even in the
third period but the quarter ended with
McEachern on top by twenty 47 - 27.
Etowah was able to get back within
sixteen early in the fourth to match the
margin at the end of the first quarter
before McEachern cruised home by the
final score of 60 - 36.
Etowah was only able to put one player in
double figures as Tyler Blackwell chipped
in 10 in the second lowest scoring output
for the Eagles on the season.
