Etowah High School Volleyball:  Back Through the Years

Back to Home Page

The history of Etowah Volleyball will be chronicled in files leading out of this item, with information about the varsity only, starting with    THE EARLY YEARS (1991 TO 1996),

And to an era which built into a Final Four appearance: ALONG CAME SUCCESS (1997 to 2001),

Then to the point where each year has its own archive link:

2002 --

2003 --

2004 -- Another Final Four year and some record breaking performances. Junior Varsity and Freshman teams are covered in this section along with the highly-successful varsity.

2005 -- The entire program flourished: Varsity to an Elite Eight finish in Georgia AAAA, the Junior Varsity and Freshman programs making an impact and winning county championships.

2006 -- The Trip to the Final Four, Hummer-style, ended too quickly as the Lady Eagle lost, 1-3, to Harrison in the semifinals.  It was a 33-10 year, with very few in Etowah High School history being better.  Banners years, too, for the junior varsity and freshman teams.

2007 -- All three Etowah teams swept to County Championships, all in 2-game matches.  It was the first time for a Cherokee championship for an Etowah Varsity Team.
